ENGR 4220/6220: Semester project (A)

Semester project: Part A

The first step in the semester project is to build the process. The process is the combination of mechanical or electrical components that allow you to influence the controlled variable. Influencing the controlled variable means in this context that you have a signal (usually electrical, but mechanical solutions are also possible).

Once the process is built, determine:

  1. The static input-output curve (if applicable) - this is not necessarily linear
  2. The operating point or points
  3. The dynamic response
  4. The transfer function - linearized in the operating point if the curve in (1) is nonlinear

Be ready to demonstrate your working process by 03/17/09. Turn in your typewritten and printed report by 03/17/09. The maximum score is 30 points (process: 15, description: 5, and 5 additional points for a well-parepared proposal, turned in in a timely manner.
